Still time slots for anyone who wants to help
The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign kicks off this weekend in Jefferson and around the county.
Volunteer bell ringers will man kettles Fridays from 4 to 7 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 7 pm now through Dec. 20 at both grocery stores in Jefferson. Counter-top kettles will be placed at convenience stores around the county.
According to volunteer coordinator Vern Foje, there are still time slots available for bell ringers. Various churches, service organizations and individuals have filled much of the schedule, but he is still looking for bell ringers for this Saturday, Nov. 28, from 12 to 7 pm.
Ninety percent of the money raised by the Red Kettle campaign remains in Greene County. Foje expects the Action Resource Center will receive the majority of the money.
Anyone who would like to help this Saturday, or who would like to check the schedule for other weekends, can call Foje at 515-386-2944. He asks callers to leave a message if he misses their call.
